Resident Evil 2 Post-Launch DLC Includes 1998 Costumes and New Mode

With the Resident Evil 2 remake coming out in two days, Capcom just announced some DLC for the game that will be released after the game's launch. The content should please fans that got to play the original game on PSOne and those that want more to do after finishing both of the game's campaigns.

During a pre-launch live stream, Capcom announced that two costumes that will make fans of the original game very happy; Leon ‘98 and Clair ‘98. These costumes turn Leon and Claire into their 32-bit 3D models, which are dated by today's standards but have a ton of charm in them, especially if you play them during the campaign.

Also announced was a new mode called The Ghost Survivors. This is a neat little what-if story that has players controlling sub-characters they normally wouldn't use, like the mayor's daughter, Robert Kendo, and a mysterious U.S.S. member. New enemies will also be made for this mode, so that should add some replayability to the game.

Critics have gotten their hands on the remake of this horror classic and it has gotten rave reviews. They have praised some of the newer mechanics that make this game easier, including the controls ported over from Resident Evil 4 and some amazing graphics, courtesy of the Resident Evil 7 engine.

Resident Evil 2 comes out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on January 25.
