Red Dead Redemption 2 Now Has a Battle Royale Mode Because Why Not?

You would think that Rockstar Games would be satisfied with the positive praise Red Dead Redemption 2 has been getting, making many forget about how the company overworked a number of their developers to reach the current deadline. However, it looks like the company wants some of that Battle Royale money and hype, as the company has officially announced Gun Rush mode for online play.

Announced on the official Rockstar Games website, Gun Rush mode has 32 players battling it out as they try and survive an onslaught of gunfire. Players will need to be smart and conserve their ammunition, as the area shrinks and other opponents become more visible. Thankfully, there are Free-for-All and Team variations of the mode, so you can play with friends and takeout the opposition.

Or you can download Fortnite. Which is free. FREE.

To be fair, if you already have Red Dead Redemption 2 there will be no additional pay for the online mode. Granted, you need to have a PS Plus or Xbox Live membership to play online since the game is currently not available on PC but that's something many online players have dealt with in recent years.

Online play is still in beta form and will stay that way for a few more months but it's good to know that progress is being made. If the online mode for Grand Theft Auto V is anything to go by, this will be updated many times and get more modes in the future. There will probably be microtransactions as well because money makes the world go round.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC port likely in the works.
