Rebellion Founder Jason Kingsley Teases A New Judge Dredd Video Game On The Way

It's been a while since Jude Dredd fans and gamers got any word on that video game that Rebellion Development was working on, but it looks like the video game developer finally has a new update on the Judge Dredd video game they promised the fanbase.

Sitting down to speak with Express during an interview, the founder of Rebellion, Jason Kingsley decided to update fans and tease on the date when they can expect to see the judge, jury, and executioner make his way to their upcoming videogame.

Not only does Kingsley cross his fingers saying that he hopes to see more 2000 AD games make their way to the market, but he bets that fans are going to see the Judge Dredd video game during the end of this year or the beginning after the next year.

"We've had a lot of people interested in working with us, and their visions for our intellectual properties, which is really exciting. I would reckon towards the end of this year/beginning of next, we'll start to see the fruits of that and start to announce things that we're working on and show people what's going on. Fingers crossed we'll get some more 2000 AD games soon."

Though Kingsley doesn't name the specific game the company is working on, he does hint that Rebellion is actually developing a game for Judge Dredd.

"Well Judge Dredd is obviously one of our major comic book characters so I would be surprised if there wasn't going to be some activity around Judge Dredd, but we're not actually announcing anything."

This is definitely exciting news for fans. Not only are they getting that Judge Dredd: Mega-City One live-action series in the next two years, but it looks like they're also getting a Judge Dredd video game on the way. The last time fans got to see Dredd turned into a video game was in 2003 with Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death – a game which had a pretty bad reputation. Now, years after its release, we can only hope that things get better and Rebellion produces an exciting and enjoyable video game.
