Ready Player One Star Reveals That She’s Already Signed On For Follow-Up Movies

Ready Player One did pretty well when it premiered earlier this year.

Not only did pop culture fans love the different cameos and references made in Ready Player One, but the film also raked in more than 500 million at the worldwide box office, turning Steven Spielberg's science fiction adventure film into the sixth-highest-grossing movie of 2018.

Now it looks like Ready Player One star Olivia Cooke, the actress who played the Art3mis/ Samantha Cook, is signed on for sequels to the movie. Sure, there haven't been any announcements of a Ready Player One sequel just yet, however, Cooke has recently teased the potential of a follow-up to the science fiction romp.

The actress just recently spoke in an interview with Digital Spy to help promote her newest project, a British adaptation of the classic novel, Vanity Fair. During their discussion, Cooke opened up about how she had signed on to a Ready Player One sequel though she isn't certain whether the film would push through or not.

"I've signed my life away, so I'm contracted to sequels but I don't know [if they're happening]. I haven't heard anything. We'll see... I don't think there's a Ready Player Two book, I don't know if they'd want to write that first?"

While we're not quite sure whether or not Warner Brothers is going to work on another Ready Player One movie, Cooke's contract with the studio is a fair indication that we might get a film soon. Cooke's costar Tye Sheridan may not have revealed whether or not he's been contracted to work on another Ready Player One movie, but the odds seem a bit high. After all, what would a Ready Player One sequel be without Wade Watts?
