Newly-elected Prime Minister Anthony Albanese received an updated brief about the latest plans when the British monarch passed away.

Based on the briefing obtained by The Australian, the country will mark the event as a public holiday. Other details include the length of mourning and funeral guests.

Prime Minister Albanese will be informed about the Queen's death an hour before Buckingham Palace will announce the news to the public. The nation will follow other Commonwealth countries and observe 10 days of mourning with flags flying at half-mast.

The Australian PM will put on a black tie immediately once the news is announced. The PM's planned statement about Her Majesty's death had already been drafted and would be delivered in Canberra.

Meanwhile, in the United Kingdom, the Queen's coffin will be transported from her home at Windsor Castle to Buckingham Palace. It will remain there for four days. It will be taken to Westminster Hall and lie there for another four days.

The funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey 10 days after the Queen's death.

Queen Elizabeth Funeral Guest List Leaked

Based on the leaked briefing, the Prime Minister and Australia's Governor-General are invited to fly to London. Four official Australian mourners are also invited.

Aside from the aforementioned, 10 to 12 notable Australians, including First Australians, sports, community and charity representatives, made it into the Queen's funeral guest list.

Prince Charles will officially be proclaimed king by Governor-General David Hurley as the new King of Australia in a session of Parliament House. The new king's Australian title will be Charles the Third, by the Grace of God King of Australia and His other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth.

The news about the leak of Queen Elizabeth's funeral in Australia came after rumors that the country could split from the monarchy and become a republic when the Queen dies.
