Queen Elizabeth isn’t getting any younger. As such, royal fans couldn’t help but worry about her every time the palace releases a health update.

Just before her Platinum Jubilee, it was reported that the Queen haD decreased mobility. She also failed to attend some of the events during the Platinum Jubilee because she experienced some discomfort following the Trooping the Colour.

Queen Elizabeth Sparks Health Concerns With Her Bruised Hand

This week, Queen Elizabeth met with Nicola Sturgeon in Edinburgh. The two women were photographed shaking hands while at the Holyrood House. But eagle-eyed royal fans immediately noticed the bruise on the monarch’s hand.

This is not the first time that the bluish marking on the Queen’s hand was on display in an official photo. In fact, several health experts have already been speculating on the possible condition the Queen has been diagnosed with.

Has Queen Elizabeth Been Secretly Diagnosed With Multiple Conditions?

GP Giuseppe Aragona revealed that there are different conditions that can cause the bruising of a person’s hand.

“There are a few different reasons for why the Queen’s hands are so purple. A lack of circulation, frail skin, exposed veins, bruising, and a leakage of blood to the tissue beneath the skin cause the color. It could be cyanosis which occurs when there is not enough oxygen in the blood,” he said (via Express).

Aragona explained that blood with a normal amount of oxygen is deep red, which makes the skin its normal color. However, low oxygenated blood is bluer, and it also causes the skin to have a purple shade.

“It is known that cyanosis can develop quicker if the person has suffered a minor health problem, so this could be linked to her recent injury,” he said.

Queen Elizabeth Lost A Considerable Amount Of Weight In Recent Months

The Queen’s latest photo also shows her rocking a much shorter hair compared to the one she sported during the Platinum Jubilee. It’s also evident that the monarch lost a considerable amount of weight in recent weeks.

In April, Sarah Campus, a health and fitness expert, told Express that the Queen is still very active at 96.

“The Queen seems to be quite the powerhouse when it comes to growing old gracefully and keeping active at age 96. The Queen also eats a healthy, balanced diet. She has a team of talented chefs at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. The Queen starts her day with Earl Grey tea – minus milk and sugar – and a side of biscuits. Her main breakfast consists of cereal, yogurt, toast, and marmalade. She is also partial to fish sometimes for breakfast, in particular, kippers or smoked haddock, a great high-quality source of protein to kick-start her day and will keep hunger locked up. This all contributes to maintaining her strength,” she said.

The Queen watches her food intake throughout the day. For lunch, she typically devours a plate of fish and vegetables. And when eating alone, she refrains from consuming high-caloric and starchy foods.

“The Queen eats little and often, so for afternoon tea she loves chocolate biscuit cake and ginger cake, and her favorite sandwiches are cucumber, egg, and smoked salmon. For supper, her tastes are varied and include a combination of meat or fish and vegetables. For example, for the main course, she loves games, things like Gaelic steak, fillet steak with a mushroom whisky sauce, especially if with venison. For a first course she enjoys fish pate consisting of smoked salmon, trout, and mackerel,” she said.
