Queen Elizabeth Shock: Monarch Allegedly Only Agreed To Meet Prince Harry If Duke Of Sussex Would Meet Dad Prince Charles First

Queen Elizabeth II welcomed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Windsor Castle last week after the pair skipped Prince Philip's memorial service. However, according to reports, it was the Duke of Sussex who reached out and extended an "olive branch" to his dad.

Queen Elizabeth Gave Prince Harry A Condition Before Agree To Meet Him?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties in January 2020. After they carried out their final engagement, they flew to Canada and stayed there for a couple of weeks before they settled in Los Angeles.

The pair made a surprise visit to the Queen last week by dropping in England before they headed to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games. An unnamed source claimed that the monarch only agreed to meet the royal couple after their meeting with the Prince of Wales. So, Prince William's brother reached out to their dad.

"Harry contacted his father and said he was coming over with Meghan and he wanted to meet," an anonymous source told The Sun. "Harry instigated it all. It was an olive branch from Harry and made in an effort to clear the air. He made the approach to Charles who was obviously very happy, and accepted."

Prince Charles was reportedly happy about the Sussexes' visit. Much like his mother, the Queen, the heir apparent has maintained that Prince Harry is a "much-loved son" who is always welcome to come back and visit them.

"The Queen agreed to see them both but only after he had met Charles first," the insider continued. "They were travelling to Holland for the Invictus Games which is only round the corner. Charles wants to heal things with his son and his daughter-in-law and ultimately wants to meet his grandchildren."

The tipster added, "By seeing the Queen before they arrived in Holland for a high-profile visit, they managed to diminish any idea they were snubbing her. Charles was happy to have them."

Queen Elizabeth Was Allegedly Being Exploited By Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

While many were happy after seeing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's reunion with Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth II, not everyone was convinced by the couple's sincerity. Royal biographer Tom Bower, author of Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles, accused Prince Harry and Markle of exploiting the 95-year-old monarch for their Netflix documentary.

"I have no doubt it was all done for their Netflix documentary," Bower told Mail Online. "The Queen's advisers failed to protect her from being exploited by the royal family's worst traducers, while the Sussexes exploited an old, unwell woman to boost their credibility and coffers."

Prio to Bower's opinion and the Sussexes' visit to the U.K., Angela Levin, Prince Harry's royal biographer was convinced that they would only visit the Queen for the same reason — for their Netflix documentary.

"I think they'll come back if we’ll allow them to bring Netflix cameramen, they won't come otherwise," Levin told The Sun.

Levin also claimed that Markle was only joining her husband at the Invictus Games because "they're doing the next Netflix documentary."

"They're going with cameras, and she wouldn't want to miss out on the publicity," the royal expert further alleged. "The Invictus Games don't belong to her, she likes taking over things that she thinks will be productive for her. She's not necessary there."
