Queen Elizabeth Shock: Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Could Reportedly Be A 'Major Distraction' At Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration

Queen Elizabeth invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to her Platinum Jubilee celebration. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex agreed to attend with their kids, but a royal biographer believed they would only cause a distraction.

Queen Elizabeth Received 'Yes' From Prince Harry And Meghan Markle For Jubilee Celebration

There have been various speculations about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's attendance at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration. According to several sources, the 96-year-old monarch invited Prince Harry and Markle to the event.

There were rumors that he would skip the Queen's Jubilee for a polo tournament. However, the Sussexes debunked the claims by confirming their attendance at the monarch's special celebration.

Prince Harry and Markle also announced that they would be bringing their kids Archie, 2, and Lilibet, 11 months.

"Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honored to attend The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children," the Sussexes' spokesperson told Harper's Bazaar.

The royal family hasn't seen Archie in person for two years already. Also, they haven't met Prince Harry and Markle's daughter in person as the duchess gave birth to her in California in 2021.

Queen Elizabeth Warned That Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Might Distract Platinum Jubilee Celebration

Some royal fans are pleased that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are joining the royal family for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration. However, there are concerns that they might steal the British monarch's thunder on what should have been her special day, or they might cause a distraction if they brought Netflix cameras with them.

"While the family are delighted Harry and Meghan are coming, there is a real fear of tension, especially over any Netflix crew. There are concerns tension could explode if the Netflix team comes to the UK and tries to exploit their opportunities," an unnamed source said, The Sun reported. "The worry is they will push it and try to gain access to areas of Jubilee celebration events where they can film Harry and Meghan and their children."

The source added, "Even if they accept that their Netflix crew can’t go into Buckingham Palace to film, they could cause problems – and at the very least cause a major distraction."

According to the tipster, senior courtiers were convinced that Netflix would take the event as a "big opportunity to exploit their mega-millions agreement." So there will be a team of Palace aides on standby to "keep a very close eye on the crew" to remind them when it's not okay to film.
