Queen Elizabeth allegedly decided to limit the royal line-up on the balcony due to Prince Andrew.

Her Majesty reportedly didn't want her favorite son to join her on the balcony during the Trooping the Colour, prompting her to decide to limit the royal line-up to those who are still working for the firm. As a result, just like the Duke of York, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn't make the cut.

Queen Elizabeth Prevents Son Prince Andrew From Making Balcony Appearance At It Affects Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

The Queen chose Prince Andrew to be her escort at Prince Philip's memorial service. It didn't turn out well, as several netizens criticized her choice due to the scandals involving the Duke of York.

So, to refrain from repeating the same mistake, Her Majesty, was keen not to have Prince Andrew on the balcony. Thus, she decided to limit the line-up to those who are still actively serving the monarchy, disqualifying Prince Andrew and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to a royal biographer.

"No, the Queen has been firm about that," Angela Levin told Sky News, per Express. "The way she has done it is if you are not a working royal, you can't be on it."

Levin continued, "That's a way of stopping Prince Andrew from going out [on the balcony]. I think there would be quite a feeling of anger amongst us all [if Andrew were to appear]."

Why Queen Elizabeth Didn't Want Prince Andrew To Make A Balcony Appearance?

Queen Elizabeth has mobility problems, and there are rumors that the Platinum Jubilee might be the last time the public will see her, so it will be emotional. The furor that the palace received from the public after the Queen decided to make Prince Andrew her escort probably made the Queen realize it's best to keep the controversial royal away from the spotlight.

Many expressed their disappointment after seeing the Queen with Prince Andrew as her escort because the sighting at the event came just weeks after he settled the sexual assault against Virginia Giuffre. Some even felt that by choosing the Duke of York, she seemingly endorsed him to the public.

"This year, what should have been a glorious, unblemished celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee has instead become tarnished by the iniquity of the Queen’s second son — and by the puzzle of her attachment to him, demonstrated when he escorted her to her seat in Westminster Abbey for the service celebrating the life of Prince Philip," royal author Clive Irving wrote for Daily Beast, per Express.

Earlier this month, the Queen released a statement about the royal line-up on the balcony. She decided to limit her royal companions to those who are still working for the firm.

"After careful consideration, the Queen has decided that this year's traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance on Thursday 2nd of June will be limited to Her Majesty and those members of the Royal Family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of the Queen," a Buckingham Palace spokesman said in a statement to People.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Prince Andrew are expected to attend other Platinum Jubilee events. They are likely to attend the Thanksgiving Service at St. Paul's Cathedral in London on Friday.
