Queen Elizabeth reportedly became the mother figure to both Prince William and Prince Harry following the untimely death of their mother, Princess Diana, in 1997. Her Majesty was said to be training William as he would soon become the king while she maintains a close and loving relationship with Harry.
However, things reportedly changed when Prince Harry decided to step back from his senior royal roles and move away from the other members of the royal family in January 2020. Queen Elizabeth and Prince William were allegedly brokenhearted after learning about the infamous “Megxit.”
Recently, new reports suggested that Queen Elizabeth had issued a stern warning to both Prince William and Prince Harry before either of them were engaged to Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, respectively. Keep on reading to know more details.
Queen Elizabeth’s Divorce Warning To Prince William And Prince Harry Revealed
Queen Elizabeth reportedly warned Prince William and Prince Harry after the numerous divorces hit the royal family. The claim, which was first reported in Sunday Express in 2006, came after the Duke of Cambridge was confirmed to be dating his now-wife, Kate Middleton, and the Duke of Sussex was still romantically involved with Chelsy Davy.
An unnamed Buckingham Palace insider stated:
"The Queen is the head of the Church and so from a point of principle, she is opposed to royal divorces. However, she has witnessed the divorces not just of her sister Princess Margaret, but also those of her three eldest children. She now feels, to put it bluntly, that enough is enough. She does not want to name names, but she is adamant that there are going to be no further royal divorces during her reign."
The same source furthered:
"The concept of divorce goes against the Queen's whole upbringing, which is about duty and about soldiering on in the face of adversity. She inherited a lot of her views from her mother, who was scarred by King Edward and Wallis Simpson scandal. Both Princes William and Harry have been in no doubt that when they marry, it's for keeps. It's felt that Harry would greatly benefit from several more years as a bachelor."
Queen Elizabeth was thought to have made the comments after several high-profile members of the royal family had been divorced. Her Majesty’s sister, Margaret, divorced Anthony Armstrong-Jones in 1978 while Princess Anne also parted ways with Captain Mark Phillips in 1992 after a three-year separation.
Four years later, Prince Charles also divorced the late Princess Diana, a year after the Princess of Wales claimed there were “three” of them in the marriage when asked about Camilla Parker-Bowles. The eldest son of Queen Elizabeth then tied the knot with Camilla in 2005.

Queen Elizabeth’s Desire To Call Camilla A ‘Queen Consort’ Divides Public
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth is said to be dividing the public over her bid to call Camilla Parker-Bowles a “Queen Consort” once Prince Charles takes over the throne. Royal experts have weighed on why Her Majesty’s “sincere wish” to the Cornwall couple shocked everyone.
During a conversation with Zoe Forsey on the Pod Save The Queen podcast, Daily Mirror’s royal editor Russell Myers stated:
“It was a bombshell. This is absolutely extraordinary. I don’t think anyone saw this coming. There had been some rumours flying around recently that something was going to happen. But I definitely didn’t think it was imminent and I certainly didn’t think that the announcement would be made on Accession Day.”
The royal expert went on to say that:
“It is a big, big issue that has really, really split opinion. You go right back to when Charles and Camilla got married in 2005. The Palace was heavily briefing that she would only ever be known as Princess Consort. She wouldn’t be Queen.”
To recall, Queen Elizabeth has said, in a message marking the 70th anniversary of her reign, she wants Camilla Parker-Bowles to be known as “Queen Consort” if Prince Charles becomes the king. Her Majesty also stated that 70 years on, the day is one she recalls as much for the death her father, King George VI, as for the start of her reign.
Both Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles were, reportedly, pleased and happy with Queen Elizabeth’s message for them. Prince William and Prince Harry, for their part, were allegedly informed about the “Queen Camilla” message beforehand.
