Kate Middleton and Queen Consort Camilla have been pitted against each other due to their ranks. An insider claimed that the queen consort is using her power to show the Princess of Wales that she's in a higher position than the latter.
An insider told Radar Online:
"It's been this elephant in the room for so many years, since Camilla feels Kate merely tolerates her. But things are about to get VERY different. That means Kate — and everyone else in the royal household, for that matter — needs to fall in line or incur her wrath."
Tipsters claimed that Prince William's stepmother is eager to cement her status, and she's allegedly "demanding stepdaughter-in-law Kate — the fashionable wife of future monarch William — indulge her every whim."
The source continued:
"Camilla is taking full advantage by attending all the key meetings while ensuring she's thoroughly debriefed on those she can't attend. Nothing gets done without her knowledge or consent — and that's how it's going to stay for the term."
Middleton, 41, who has a reputation for being non-combative, is reportedly peeved by how her stepmother-in-law is throwing her weight around. However, while Middleton is supportive of King Charles' decree, she's allegedly not letting Camilla cow her.
How's Queen Consort Camilla, Kate Middleton's Relationship?
The rumors pitting Kate Middleton and Queen Consort Camilla have been around for years. However, one should take those speculations with a grain of salt.
Camilla and Middleton seemed to have a great relationship. Last year, when King Charles' wife turned 75, she picked Middleton to be her photographer for her photoshoot cover for Country Life magazine.
Queen Consort Camilla even praised Middleton, saying the future queen "did very good pictures and she does it sort of naturally." Camilla said they had a lot of fun during the photoshoot.
Camilla said this about Middleton, according to People.
"It was very relaxed and, of course, very kind of the Duchess of Cambridge. She came with her camera, and she's an extremely good photographer. And it was all very casual — there wasn't much hair and make-up. It was just done in the garden with a lot of laughs — it was a lovely way of doing it."
Body language expert Judi James also said that Middleton showed a polite concern to anxious Camilla when they stood together on the balcony of the Foreign Office during the Remembrance Sunday service in November.
James told the Mirror:
"Kate turned her head quickly in a gesture of polite concern. Kate's calm and very still body language was in contrast to Camilla's nervous movements that showed the most in the fluttering of her hymn sheet as her two hands fiddled with it throughout."
Lip reader Jeremy Freeman told the outlet that Middleton asked Camilla, "shall we go in now?" before they left the balcony.
