Queen Camilla gained countless critics due to her affair with King Charles while they were both married to their first spouses. However, she and the new monarch had chosen to fight for their love when they tied the knot in 2005. She has since been part of the royal household, but many were not a fan of her, according to a royal butler who shared about her hidden talent.
What Did The Royal Staffers Say About Queen Camilla And How Did King Charles' Butler Respond?
Grant Harrold spoke about his interactions with his former staffers in the palace when he was still working as a butler for then-Prince Charles. According to him, many didn't really like Camilla, and he found it difficult because he saw her differently.
"What I used to find difficult was people that knew her who worked for the family, they would say 'oh I'm not a fan of her,'" Grant said, Showbiz CheatSheet reported.
"'Well do you know what, you don't actually know her.' Nobody is perfect. I've never met a single human being who could say they were perfect. We all make mistakes," Harrold said, sharing his usual response and how he defends Queen Camilla.
He was aware of the drama between Queen Camilla and Princess Diana. However, he chose not to judge her on whatever she had heard about her in the past.
"I didn't think anything of what had happened in the past and I went in with a very open mind," he said before revealing the queen consort's hidden talent.
"I liked [Camilla], I got on with her and she was great fun, wonderful to be around and she's a very good dancer. I danced with her on a few occasions. A brilliant boss, absolutely brilliant … she was a lovely character."
Queen Camilla Will Do Well In Her New Role During King Charles' Reign
Camilla became the new queen consort when her husband, King Charles, ascended the throne following Queen Elizabeth's passing on Sept. 8, 2022. According to Harrold, she would be a good partner to His Majesty, and she would fare in her new role as queen consort.
"I hope that people will see that she'll do an amazing job of it. She'll be an amazing queen," Harrold said.
"I think it's never going to be possible for Charles and Camilla to be like the queen because she had 70 years of doing that but I think they'll give it a good hit and have a good go of it. I think what they will do is carry on Queen Elizabeth's legacy to how she did things, but I think they will have a modern approach."

Prior to the Queen's passing, she clarified Camilla's title when her son became the head of the monarchy. Queen Elizabeth said her daughter-in-law would be queen consort, in contrast to previous reports that she would only be princess consort.
The Queen released a message on the eve of her Ascension Day in February 2022. In her announcement, she expressed her desire to make Camilla, Queen during King Charles' reign.
"And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service," she said.
