Princess Eugenie Breaks Ranks By Supporting Prince Harry?
Last year, the royal cousins — Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie — were spotted watching Super Bowl. It was his first at the star-studded sporting event. Meghan Markle was nowhere in sight at the time.
Royal expert and biographer Duncan Larcombe weighed in on the sighting of the Princess of York and Duke of Sussex and claimed that she was "breaking ranks" to express support for her cousin.
"The royals have stayed quite consistent and firm when it comes to Harry and Meghan, as we've seen," Larcombe told OK!
"Eugenie is breaking ranks from the rest of the royals by being seen so publicly to endorse Harry and Meghan in their new life. It endorses what they said about the royals."
The expert added that no member of the royal family would want to be seen near Prince Harry and Markle following their controversial tell-all with Oprah Winfrey. However, Princess Beatrice's sister flew to the U.S. to watch Super Bowl with Prince Harry.
"There are those that think that Eugenie is Harry's only hope of him being brought back in should things not work out in paradise, so at least he is talking to someone in the Royal Family," Larcombe added. "By seeing Eugenie there, it looks like the only link he still has with his family."
Princess Eugenie, Prince Harry's Close Bond Examined
Princess Eugenie is no doubt very close to Prince Harry and even his wife, Meghan Markle. In Spare, Prince William's brother mentioned that it was Princess Eugenie who met Markle first before the other royals.
When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left Frogmore Cottage, they also let Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank, and their son occupy their home in London.
According to Finding Freedom co-authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the royal cousins had always been close to each other.

"Eugenie had always been more than just a cousin to Harry. They were also the closest of friends," Scobie and Durand wrote, People reported.
"Out of all the Queen's grandchildren, Harry and Eugenie have one of the most natural connections. Like Harry, Eugenie is loyal, honest, and great fun. The two had many nights out together in London."
Prince Harry is also confident with Princess Beatrice's younger sister when he tells her about the women in his life. Princess Eugenie was even the one who reportedly set up Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas' date.
"Harry had always confided in his cousin when it came to the women in his life. Not only did he trust her implicitly, but friends say that she gives great advice and has always been 'beyond wise' for her years."
