The Duke of Sussex had maintained his close bond with the Princess of York even after he stepped back from his royal duties in 2020, but their relationship has reportedly been strained.
Princess Eugenie More Loyal To Mom Than Cousins Prince Harry?
Charlotte Griffiths, editor at large at Mail on Sunday, appeared on GB News. During the interview, she discussed the rumors about the royal cousins' strained relationship.
According to Griffiths, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took offense at Princess Eugenie's mom Sarah Ferguson's interview earlier this month. However, the princess has reportedly sided with her mother.
Griffiths said on GB News about Princess Eugenie and Prince Harry's relationship:
"The thing about Eugenie is that she's very loyal to Harry, but there's no one she's more loyal to than her own mother. Those girls, her and her sister [Princess Beatrice] adore their mother, and Fergie has been doing a round of interviews to promote her new book recently in which lightly touched on the subject of Meghan very carefully, said nothing that much controversial but what I'm hearing is that of course, Meghan and Harry have taken great offense, it's all very awkward, and that has caused tensions with Eugenie, that's what I'm hearing."
However, one should still take the report with a grain of salt and wait for Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie's reunion at King Charles' coronation. The royal cousins' will surely interact with each other.
However, the expert claimed that Princess Eugenie would only give Markle's husband a nod and smile instead of a big hug due to the current issue.
In a previous relationship from Epicstream, there are rumors that Princess Eugenie is distancing herself from the royals during the Easter Sunday service because she's team Sussex. However, it was also possible that the pregnant royal distanced herself from the others because she was simply uncomfortable.
What Did Princess Eugenie's Mom Say That Offended Prince Harry, Meghan Markle?
The Duchess of York has been doing interviews for her new book A Most Intriguing Lady: A Novel. Since she had been part of the royal family, she was asked about her departure, and she answered it as she also reflected on her 12-year career in writing children's books.
Ferguson told the Independent without making any direct reference to Prince Harry and Markle:
"Well, you can't have it both ways. You can't sit on the fence and keep one foot in and one foot out. You're either in or out."
Ferguson's statement is something she believed in. In fact, she didn't get an invite to King Charles' coronation, and she understood it because she's divorced from the King's brother, Prince Andrew, and is no longer part of the royal family.
She said on ITV's Loose Women that she was not expecting an invitation to King Charles' coronation:
"I don't expect — you can't have it both ways. You can't be divorced and then say, 'I want this.' You're in, or you're out."
Although the palace snubbed Fergie from the crowning ceremony, she received an invitation to the coronation concert on May 7. She will reunite with the royals at the VIP section, People reported.
The concert will be held on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle. The star-studded line-up includes Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and the British boy band, Take That.
