Princess Charlene and Prince Albert's marriage has been rocked with divorce rumors. A body language weighed in on their gestures in their recent public sighting, and noticed that they weren't as tactile as before.

Princess Charlene And Prince Albert Not As Tactile Amid Divorce Rumors

The royals from Monaco stepped out together and attended the F1 in Monte Carlo Saturday. Princess Charlene has been attending various engagements after she recovered from her illness and returned from Switzerland for a four-month treatment. There are rumors that the couple is on the verge of getting a divorce.

Body language expert Judi James examined their gestures in their most recent public engagement. James noticed that they weren't as tactile as before. She noted that the princess seemingly avoided "forced tactile poses" with her husband, and her smile showed "no sign of genuine happiness." And Prince Albert mirrored his wife's gesture.

"Albert can be seen mirroring these poses with his arm extended at waist level around his wife but her poses seem to be predominate with the drivers," James said per Express. "This could be a deliberate decision to help avoid fuelling speculation and scrutiny, with less riding on her poses with the drivers than those with her husband."

Looking back, James noted that Princess Charlene had some tactile moments with her husband. However, she also noted that it would be totally unfair to expect her to do the same.

"There have been moments in South Africa and when she first returned to Monaco when Charlene seemed to attempt some very emphatically tactile poses with her husband, clinging to his neck and pressing her face against his," the body language expert said. "It would be totally unfair to expect Charlene, who has clearly been suffering from ill-health, to perform any gruesome 'togetherness' poses with her husband purely for the public. A small-step approach would surely be preferable at a time when she clearly needs support and love rather than being pushed into anything forced."

Meanwhile, she noted that what was "complex" was how Prince Albert walked in front of her and the way any touch rituals were blocked by the way the princess carried her bag between them.

Princess Charlene And Prince Andrew Divorce Rumors

Princess Charlene was stuck in South America for six months due to her health problems. However, German magazine Bunte and France's Paris Match both claimed that the royal couple had already separated at the time.

"The princess 'has, for the time being, in reality, no intention of returning,'" Paris Match's source said, as per People. The outlet also speculated about the princess' changing appearance and attributed her plans to relocate to the larger tension back in Monaco.

The French outlet added that Princess Charlene "was full of good will," but she felt that she was "quickly judged and misunderstood" in the Principality. Apparently, the reports were false because Princess Charlene returned to Monaco in November before taking another treatment in Switzerland. She returned to Monaco in March and is slowly getting back to attending royal engagements.

Amid their reunion, there were claims that Prince Albert paid his wife $12.5 million a year to stay with him, suggesting that they had a marital crisis. However, an unnamed source denied the allegation to Page Six.

"Of course, she has a generous prenup, but Albert doesn’t have to pay her to stay," the source told Page Six. "After being away for so long during her illness, Charlene is so happy to be back with Albert and the kids. They spend every weekend in their country place. Albert is fully supportive of Charlene and is also helping her with her charities."
