Princess Anne Shock: Queen Consort Camilla Reportedly Shows No Signs of Anxiety Around King Charles' Sister; Princess Royal Has 'Genuine Friendship' With Sister-In-Law But Relationship May Be Tested

Queen Consort Camilla and Princess Anne reportedly have a close bond. However, their tight bond might be tested due to the former's promotion in the royal ranks.

Princess Anne, Queen Consort Camilla's Friendship Examined

King Charles' wife reportedly found a good friend in his only sister. Body language expert Judi James noticed that Queen Consort Camilla shows no signs of anxiety around her sister-in-law.

"Camilla's body language can define her as the most unsure and nervous royal," James told Express.

She added that Princess Royal "appears to not have one nervous, anxious bone in her body," which seemed to put Camilla at ease when they were together.

"Anne is still the one royal that Camilla seems to greet and respond to using body language rituals that suggest some level of genuine friendship," James added.

"Camilla looks unusually happy, comfortable and even keen to use direct and sustained eye contact with Anne and will mirror her body language to create a sense of synchronicity and like-mindedness."

The expert added that Camilla feeds off Princess Anne's confidence and stoic approach.

However, that was not the case all the time. According to royal biographer Angela Levin in her new book Camilla: Duchess of Cornwall, the pair initially didn't get along. Camilla was reportedly uneasy with Princess Anne's frosty demeanor, which she found difficult and unnerving. Also, Princess Anne reportedly kept away from Camilla as much as possible, Nicki Swift reported.

Queen Camilla's New Role Could Test Their Friendship

While King Charles' second wife and sister seem to be getting along. The expert noted that Camilla's promotion as queen consort could affect her relationship with the Princess Royal.

"Camilla is now not only above Anne in the royal pecking order, she has now taken the role of queen in the place of Anne's beloved mother," James explained.

"Anne's closeness to the late queen was never illustrated more than during the funeral and Anne is very much the family's champion when it comes to regal behavior and protocols."

James added that Princess Anne is an "old-school royal," and it will be interesting to see how she will react to Camilla's rise in the royal ranks.
