The "community impact day" was a different approach from their usual visit, which saw royals visiting a community hoping to raise money for an organization. The move was reportedly Prince William's plan for years in an attempt to "shift the dial" on royal visits, Daily Mail reported.

The move was among the new ideas that King Charles and the heir apparent have been discussing to modernize the monarchy, The Telegraph reported.

Insiders claimed that Prince William wanted to make the change because he was forced to "start from scratch" and "readjust his sights" after Megxit. The "impact days" are one of the plans that came to mind following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's departure.

Prince Harry's decision affected Prince William and Middleton's family. According to Vanity Fair royal editor Katie Nicholl, Prince William couldn't forgive his brother for what he did.

"[When Harry stepped back from his royal duties], it was very difficult for William, and I think that's partly why this rift hasn't been resolved, because, you know, William can't completely forgive Harry for what he's done," Nicholl told Us Weekly while promoting her new book on the British royal family, The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth's Legacy and the Future of the Crown.

"It had a huge impact on him, on [Princess] Catherine, on their young family. It put them in that prime sort of center. It moved them center stage far sooner than they would otherwise have been," the royal expert explained.

She also added that Prince William "had always expected that he would have the support of his brother." Also, the Duke of Cambridge didn't like what Prince Harry had done lately, which he deemed was disrespectful to the institution and their family.
