Prince Harry may not have told everything Meghan Markle needed to survive the firm. Prince William, on the other hand, gave Kate Middleton all the time she needed to adjust to the life that awaited her when she joined the firm.
Prince Harry May Have Not Told Meghan Markle Everything About Royal Life
Meghan Markle hit the ground running when she joined the firm. Many were very impressed with her. However, less than two years after joining the royal family, she and Prince Harry announced that they were stepping back from their royal duties.
Duncan Larcombe said in a new interview with Fox News Digital that he was sorry for the former actress. He claimed that Prince Harry may not have been straightforward with her.
"I feel desperately sorry for Meghan," Larcombe told the outlet. "Harry clearly never really wanted to admit to her what was actually going to be involved with the royal family."
The Duke of Sussex had been broken-hearted several times before he met Meghan Markle. Both of his exes, Cressida Bonas and Chelsy Davy, left him because they didn't like the unwanted attention from the press.
According to Katie Nicholl, author of The New Royals, Prince Harry tried to convince Bonas that they would make their relationship work. However, she had already made up her mind that she didn't like life with the royals.
This could be the reason Prince Harry didn't come forward with Markle about what kind of life awaited her when she married herself into the royal family because both of her exes had the same reason why they left her.
However, several initially believed that Markle could deal with the media scrutiny and attention better than Bonas and Davy because she was a former actress. But the non-stop negative headlines also bothered Markle.
Prince Harry Could Have Learned From Brother Prince William
Larcombe mentioned that he covered Prince William and Kate Middleton's first seven years of relationship, and the palace never talked about her because she's a private individual. Unlike Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took their time before they got married.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were together for nearly 10 years before they got engaged. Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married less than two years after they started dating.
The long engagement earned Kate Middleton the moniker "Waity Katie," but Larcombe said it helped Prince William's wife "adjust to the attention" and helped her decide whether it was the life she wanted or not.
Vanity Fair royal editor Katie Nicholl also credited Prince William and Kate Middleton's long engagement to the latter's survival in the firm.
"I think the 10-year courtship that she and William had was really crucial to her success as a royal. William said it at the time of their engagement, and it had been a long engagement," Nicholl told Fox News Digital. "It gave Kate the time to … really understand what royal life was going to be like and actually [decide] if it was what she wanted. So, I think that 10-year courtship was absolutely fundamental."
According to sources, Prince William advised Prince Harry to slow down with his romance with Markle. However, the latter was furious because he felt that his older brother was ruining his romance with her.
