Prince Harry Shock: Queen Elizabeth Snubs Meghan Markle's Husband In COP26 Climate Change Speech?

Prince Harry didn't make it into the Queen's speech. Queen Elizabeth skipped the COP26 UN climate conference in Glasgow. Her Majesty canceled her attendance last week after her doctors advised her against making official visits. She is only allowed to do light desk jobs following her recent health scare. However, she still made a virtual appearance and even delivered a speech at the event.

Queen Elizabeth Surprisingly Snubbed Prince Harry In COP26 Speech

Although the British monarch didn't make it to the event, she was still a big part of it. Her Majesty delivered a speech where she praised her husband, son, and grandson's efforts for the environment. However, she made no mention of the Duke of Sussex, who has been vocal about environmental issues just like his dad and brother.

"It is a source of great pride to me that the leading role my husband played in encouraging people to protect our fragile planet, lives on through the work of our eldest son Charles and his eldest son William," the Queen said in her remarks. "I could not be more proud of them."

Twitter Reacts After Queen Snubbed Prince Harry At Her Speech

Twitter users have mixed opinions about the Queen not mentioning Prince Harry in her speech. Some agreed that not mentioning the Duke of Sussex was a snub.

"Queen snubs Prince Harry in emotional speech," one tweeted.

"I noticed that," another agreed with a grimacing face emoji.

Meanwhile, many also defended the Queen because, for them, she did nothing wrong. It was not a snub because Prince Harry wasn't involved in the event in the first place unlike his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William.

"It was not a snub. She was speaking to a particular event that Charles and William were attending. Harry should be thrown in for no apparent reason? He chose to leave, he no longer works for her, so he doesn’t get included in these things where he isn’t relevant," one commented defending Her Majesty.

"Her Majesty is speaking to the line of succession, nothing more. She loves her family, and any narrative to the contrary is false," another added.

Queen Elizabeth II has remained supportive to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they stepped down from their royal duties. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also said nothing but kind words when it comes to the Queen's treatment of them.
