Prince Harry revisited some of his previous romance in his memoir, Spare. One of the things he mentioned in the book was Princess Eugenie's reaction after his date with her friend, Cressida Bonas.

Princess Eugenie Reportedly Grilled Prince Harry After First Date With Cressida Bonas

Prince Harry recounted his first romantic date with the model in his book. It reportedly went well until he dropped Bonas at home and he leaned to kiss her goodbye, which ended into a "graze" rather than a passionate smooch because his "aim was off," Daily Mail reported.

Prince Harry was so embarrassed that he called his cousin, Princess Eugenie, who had set up the date. However, he later found out that Bonas had already spoken to his cousin.

"Disencouraged, I told her the date had gone well but the ending had left something to be desired. She didn't disagree. She'd already spoken to Cressida. She sighed. Awkward," Prince Harry wrote, according to Mirror.

Prince Harry and Bonas' first date wasn't really that bad because they eventually became an official couple. They dated from 2012 to 2014.

How Did Prince Harry And Cressida Bonas' Relationship Go?

Prince Harry and Bonas were spotted multiple times in various public sightings when they were together. According to royal biographer, Tina Brown in her book The Palace Papers, Bonas encouraged Prince Harry to seek mental therapy.

"His outbursts were ever more frequent and childlike," Brown wrote, per Town & Country.

"He took up boxing because, as he later said, he was always 'on the verge of punching somebody.' Cressida began to have serious worries about his mental health. It is not widely known that it was she who first persuaded Harry to see a therapist."

An anonymous friend told Brown Bonas "got him to accept he had problems, and see a psychoanalyst."

The Duke of Sussex and Bonas decided to call it quits after two years of dating because she wanted to focus on her acting career, BBC reported. However, there were rumors that the media played a role in their separation. Some claimed that Bonas couldn't stand the media intrusion in her personal life when she was in the royal spotlight.

A mutual friend of the exes also told Brown that following their separation, the royal prince wrote a "sweet letter" to the English actress-model that read, "I wish you well and above all thank you for helping me to address my demons and seek help."

Bonas and Prince Harry remain good friends. He even invited her to his wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018, and she attended the ceremony.
