Prince Harry may have given the royal family an ultimatum, according to a report. However, a royal expert believed that the ball would remain in the Sussexes' court.

Did Prince Harry Give The Royal Family An Ultimatum?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have said a lot of things about the royal family, from their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan to his book Spare. In the Duke of Sussex's interview with Tom Bradby, the latter asked him if they would go to King Charles' coronation if they were invited.

According to Express, Prince Harry seemingly gave the palace an ultimatum with his six-word response, "the ball is in their court."

"There's a lot that can happen between now and then," Prince Harry said. "But, you know, the door is always open. The – the ball is in their court."

"There’s a lot to be discussed. And I really hope that they can — that they are willing to sit down and talk about it — because there’s a lot that’s happened in six years. And prior to that as well."

Prince Harry Wrong About The Palace Making The Decision About His Attendance At King Charles' Coronation?

In Prince Harry's interview, he seemingly suggested that his and Markle's attendance depends on the palace. Vanity Fair royal editor and correspondent Katie Nicholl argued that the final decision would depend on the Sussexes because the palace will likely invite them, so it's up to them if they will show up at the event or not.

"It is his son, after all, and the king really does want a reconciliation in the long term," Nicholl said, Entertainment Tonight reported. "But it was interesting hearing Harry saying that the ball is in the royal family's court."

"I think, actually, when it comes to the coronation, the ball’s going to be in the Sussexes’ court. Because I think there will be an invitation from the king, I think he wants to be magnanimous, I think he wants to take a leaf out of the queen’s book."

Nicholl said the guest list for King Charles' coronation hasn't been confirmed yet. However, His Majesty reportedly wanted to reconcile with his youngest son and would want Prince Harry to be there. So, chances are high that the Sussexes will be invited, and it will be "down to Harry and Meghan as to whether they attend."

Do you agree with Katie Nicholl that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will have to decide about their attendance at King Charles' coronation, not the palace?
