Prince Harry became less friendly when he met and married Meghan Markle, according to a royal biographer. One of the noticeable things that changed was his relationship with the press.

Prince Harry Was Friendly But Allegedly Became Miserable And Distant After Meeting Meghan Markle

Arthur Edwards, a royal photographer who has toured with the royal family for over 40 years, spoke about the changes he noticed in Prince Harry after the latter met Meghan Markle. According to Edwards, the Duke of Sussex was friendly and would greet the media, but that changed after he dated and married his wife.

"Camilla would always say hello, Kate says hello, William, yeah, they’re all very friendly and so was Harry until he met Meghan, and then he became very very distant and he became almost, well, it was miserable," he said on news.com.au’s I’ve Got News For You podcast.

Markle has since become Prince Harry's constant companion. Meanwhile, Edwards felt uncomfortable around them and decided not to join their royal tours.

"In fact in the end I didn’t do Harry’s tours. I didn’t do Harry’s tour of Australia, not with Meghan. I didn’t do Harry’s tour of South Africa with Meghan," he said. "I just find it very depressing with them. They just hated the media and it was miserable so I ducked out of them and sort of went with Charles to New Zealand and you know places like that."

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle In Constant Battle With Press?

Edwards seems to have a point about the Sussexes hating the press. The couple has been in a legal battle with the media in the past years.

In December, Markle was victorious in her privacy lawsuit against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of Mail on Sunday and Daily Mail, after the court ruled that its website breached her privacy by publishing her personal letter to her dad, Thomas Markle Sr.

Prince Harry followed his wife's footsteps by filing a lawsuit against the same defendant for publishing a report claiming that he wanted to keep his legal battle with the Home Office a secret. His complaint cited a report from Daily Mail with the headline "Revealed: How Harry tried to keep his legal fight over bodyguards secret," The Guardian reported.

Aside from the libel case against Associated Newspapers, the Duke of Sussex is also going after News Group Newspapers, the publisher of The Sun and Mirror Group Newspapers, now Reach, over privacy claims. Prince Harry brought up privacy claims over an alleged phone hacking and unlawful information gathering.
