Meghan Markle Revealed Some People Told Her She's Lucky Because Prince Harry Chose To Marry Her
During their conversation, Meghan Markle revealed that when she and Prince Harry got engaged years ago, a lot of people told her that she was lucky because Prince Harry decided to marry her.
According to the Duchess of Sussex, hearing this comment again and again had its negative effects on her. Luckily, Prince Harry always reassured her that he was also lucky because Markle decided to marry him.
"When I started dating my husband, we became engaged, and everyone was just like, 'Oh my god, you're so lucky! He chose you! And at a certain point, after you hear it a million times over, you're like, 'Well, I chose him too.' But thankfully, I have a partner who was countering that narrative for me and going, 'They've got it all wrong. I'm the lucky one, 'cause you chose me,'" she said (via Hollywood Life).

Meghan Markle Said The Comments Made Her Feel That She Was Not Good Enough On Her Own
Markle said that the comments made her feel that she needed to wait for someone to tell him that she was good enough as opposed to already knowing that you're good enough on her own.
The Duchess of Sussex also believes that being told she's lucky because Prince Harry chose is a statement that's gendered, archetyped, and stereotyped.
Markle is using her podcast Archetypes to clarify and explain some of the misconceptions and false statements being thrown at her.
In the first episode, the Duchess of Sussex talked about ambition and shared an incident involving her son, Archie. In the second installment, she spoke with Mariah Carey to explain the positive and negative connotations of the word "diva."
Royal fans can expect that the remaining nine episodes of Archetypes will also focus on important issues and serve as a platform for Markle to explain her side of the story.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle's Painful Moments As Royals Were Mostly Caused By Prince William
Meanwhile, she also made headlines this week amid reports that Prince William was at the center of some of her and Prince Harry's most painful moments as royals.
Royal author Omid Scobie spoke to an unnamed friend of the Sussexes who explained that Prince Harry's highly-anticipated memoir is not the reason why he and Prince William have not fixed their relationship.
"People are desperate for steps to be made but behind the scenes, there hasn't been movement. What [Harry] is waiting for is accountability. Many lines were crossed by William. He was at the center of a number of painful moments, be it the actions of his own staff or turning his back when support was needed. It was a dark time and one that, so far, William has been unprepared to unpack," the friend said (via Newsweek).
The insider added that Prince William is also waiting for an apology from Prince Harry. And the fact that they have not apologized to each other shows that their relationship now is still the same as what it was years ago.
