Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are accused of upstaging Prince William and Kate Middleton, who is in the United States for a series of engagements. In the past, similar accusations have been made against the couple, but the Duchess of Sussex has been embroiled in more criticisms in this regard.
Meghan Markle Accused Of Upstaging Prince William, Kate Middleton With Archie’s Photo?
On Monday, Meghan Markle made a video call appearance with her mom, Doria Ragland, and son, Archie, while talking to Jotaka Eaddy, the CEO of social impact consulting firm Full Circle Strategies.
Following their video conversation, screenshots of Markle, Ragland, and Archie were released online. Some royal fans were thrilled to see Archie, who is now 3 years old, because he has only been seen in public a limited number of times.
However, others accused Markle and Prince Harry of giving the public a glimpse of Archie in an attempt to upstage the Prince and Princess of Wales. Since the royal couple is in the United States, Markle and Prince Harry allegedly want the attention to be on their son and not on Prince William and Middleton.

Timing Of Archie’s Photo Release Called ‘Suss’ By Entertainment Editor Peter Ford
The Morning Show entertainment editor Peter Ford called the timing of Archie’s appearance a bit suss.
“People are saying (about the photo of Archie), ‘Oh yeah, isn’t that a bit suss because of the timing? As we were just talking about, we’ve got William and Catherine both in the States. Is this an attempt to kind of steal the thunder a bit?” he said (via 7news.com.au).
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Accused Of Upstaging Kate Middleton, Princess Eugenie?
Two years ago, Prince Harry and Markle were also accused of trying to upstage Middleton’s birthday with their announcement that they were quitting their royal duties. After all, an official statement was released on Jan. 8, which was one day before Middleton’s birthday.
“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honor our duty to the Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages,” Prince Harry and Markle wrote on their Instagram account (via Cosmopolitan).
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were also accused of upstaging Princess Eugenie in 2019. At the time, Prince Harry and Markle reportedly told the royal family that they were expecting their first child while they were at Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding.
