Prince Harry and Meghan Markle earned a negative reputation among royal authors and royal experts. The Duchess of Sussex was previously accused of bullying staff members, and Prince Harry was criticized for seemingly following his wife’s orders.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s For Private Secretary Was Miserable While Working For Them
In the book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, royal author Valentine Low revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not get along well with their former private secretary. Even though Samantha Cohen was known for being a good problem solver and employee, she felt that working for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was very challenging.
According to Low, Cohen and Prince Harry used to have a wonderful relationship. In fact, they knew each other quite well because Cohen worked for the royal family for 18 years.

Meghan Markle Allegedly Shouted At Samantha Cohen
But after Prince Harry wed Markle, Cohen was assigned to be the couple’s private secretary, and this was when things took a turn for the worse.
“Sam is an incredible problem solver, she’s a can-do personality and she just found it really difficult. She was asked to do things that a private secretary wouldn’t normally be asked to do and I think she was treated harshly. She was shouted at by Meghan … [and] said that dealing with them was like dealing with a couple of teenagers. [The Sussexes] was impossible and pushed her to the limit. She was miserable,” Low said (via Cheat Sheet).

The royal author also claimed that Cohen wasn’t alone in thinking that Prince Harry and Markle were impossible to work for. In fact, some of their former aides came up with a group called the Sussex Survivors Club.
“So bad did things eventually become that Harry and Meghan’s team would later refer to themselves as the Sussex Survivors Club. Sources say the team came up with a damning epithet for Meghan: a ‘narcissistic sociopath,’” Low said.
Royal author Tina Brown also talked about Prince Harry and Markle during her interview with Daily Mail. She said that the Duke of Sussex will always be loyal to his wife.
“He will always have the iconic status that that has. He does have an identity, his Invictus Games has an authenticity, and people relate to that,” she said.
However, Brown stressed that Markle should do the same and find something that interests her so she could focus her attention on more important things and not just her grievances.
“I think Meghan does really need to find the thing she cares about the most and develops her own sort of brand that isn’t just a grievance brand — that is actually something we recognize as hers. It’s hard to find that and I think she hasn’t yet found that but I think she could if she rows back from focusing always on what didn’t work,” Brown said.
