Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's kids are a prince and princess, but they are not allowed to style themselves as His or Her Royal Highness (HRH). The condition reportedly left the Duke and Duchess of Sussex livid.

King Charles Banned HRH Titles To Prince Harry, Meghan Markle's Kids?

Prince Harry and Markle confirmed their children, son Archie and daughter Lilibet's new titles at the latter's Christening announcement. The Sussexes' rep called their youngest child, Princess Lilibet.

The Sussexes' spokesperson said this during the announcement via Fox News Digital:

"I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor."

The rep added:

"The children's titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch. This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace."

However, according to royal commentator Neil Sean, the Sussexes' kids are not allowed to use the HRH style.

Sean told Fox News (via Express).

"Yes, they are entitled to use Prince and Princess but not HRH – which is really the most important line in royal protocol."

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Reportedly Furious At King Charles

Sources close to the royal couple claimed that they are "furious" King Charles banned the use of HRH for Archie and Lilibet after months of "tense negotiations" with the palace.

Sources told The Sun:

"Harry and Meghan were worried about the security issue and that being prince and princess brings them the right to have certain levels of royal security. There have been a lot of talks over the past week. They have been insistent that Archie and Lilibet are prince and princess."

The insiders continued:

"They have been relentless since the Queen died, but they have been left furious that Archie and Lilibet cannot take the title HRH. That is the agreement — they can be prince and princess but not HRH because they are not working royal."
