Prince Harry was reportedly "devastated" by the perceived snubs while he was in the United Kingdom during Queen Elizabeth's funeral. According to reports, he will be including a chapter about the Queen's funeral in his upcoming memoir.

Prince Harry Warned About Memoir And Its Effects On His Relationship With The Royal Family

Best-selling author Jeffrey Archer, Princess Diana's pal, weighed in on the reports about Prince Harry reportedly stalling his memoir to edit its content. He will reportedly include some details about his grandmother's death and the events leading up to her funeral.

However, he warned Meghan Markle's husband, who has been estranged from the royal family since he stepped back from his royal duties in 2020, that his tome could worsen the tension between him and the royal family.

"I'm very sad," Archer told Mail Online. "I fear for the book. I know they're writing the chapter on the funeral, so I suppose that's what the book will end on."

Initially, Prince Harry's autobiography was set to be released in November. However, they decided to push it back due to the Queen's death. But there are claims that Prince Harry wanted to edit the content and allegedly make it more friendly to the senior royals — King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

He was reportedly "desperate to make significant changes after witnessing the public outpouring of support for the Royal Family." But some sources claimed the delay was only due to the Queen's death.

"Of course, the Queen's passing was something that was always speculated on when we started working on the book... When it comes down to it, there is absolutely no way the book can come out this year," an unnamed insider told Page Six. "You only have to look at the royal family to see how emotional they are. This is a matter of respect for Her Majesty — as Prince Harry's grandmother and as His Queen."

Prince Harry Unlikely To Be Allowed To Make Huge Changes In The Book

Although several sources claim that Prince Harry plans to amend the content of his book to make it more sensitive, several experts disagree that the publisher, Penguin Random House, will allow him to do so.

"They paid him a lot of money — something like £20 million. You want to calm it down if you're paid £20 million?" Archer said.

British journalist Angela Levin, author of "Harry: Biography of a Prince", echoed the same sentiment. According to her, there were speculations that Prince Harry was planning to "rewrite a lot" of his memoir.

"I don't know if the publisher will let him because it's almost ready to go, and publishers can't just suddenly quickly change things like a newspaper can," Levin said on GB News. "We'll have to wait and see what's in there."

She noted that Penguin House paid the Duke of Sussex $20 million, so "they might just say we don't want you to take it all out so it's soft and nice because that's not very interesting for that sort of money."

Prince Harry's book will be coming out sometime next year.
