Royal followers are already wondering how things could be should Prince Charles finally takes over the throne from Queen Elizabeth. Reports about Her Majesty’s possible abdication have been making rounds online for quite some time already after her shocking trip to the hospital in October 2021.

Since he is the heir apparent, Prince Charles is expected to rule the British monarchy once Queen Elizabeth, the longest-reigning royal in history, steps down. There have also been discussions about the possible title of Camilla Parker-Bowles, the second wife of the Princess of Wales, should her husband finally start his kingship.

Now, new reports are claiming that the succession plans of Prince Charles were already torn apart even if he is yet to become the King of the British monarchy. Keep on reading to know more details.

Prince Charles’ Hopes To Trim The Monarchy Doubted

Royal commentator Victoria Arbiter reacted to the reports about Prince Charles’ plans to slim down the British monarchy by only reducing the number of the royal family’s main members. The husband of Camilla Parker-Bowles is said to be concerned about the palace being seen by U.K. taxpayers as a value-for-money.

Speaking for the Channel 5 documentary titled William & Kate: Too Good To Be True in 2020, Victoria Arbiter stated:

“How do four people oversee the Commonwealth? How do four people do all the ceremonial occasions, all the official engagements, oversee all the charities that they do?”

Royal editor Rebecca English also gave her thoughts about the idea of reducing the members of the royal family to save the money of the British taxpayers. She said:

“Prince Charles feels that, moving forwards, the public appetite for lots of aunts and uncles and cousins doing royal duties isn’t there.”

Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle author Tom Quinn also offered his ideas in the documentary. He claimed that the idea of Prince Charles slimming down the main members of the royal family made sense for the future King financially.

Tom Quinn furthered:

“There are many distant royals who live in grace-and-favour apartments and are effectively subsidised by the taxpayer and do very little for that money.”

Most, if not all, royal followers are aware that one of the primary sources of funding for Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family is the Sovereign Grant, which is a single annual payment the government gives to Her Majesty to cover official royal duties and for the upkeep the occupied royal residences. The said payment was set at £85.9 million from 2019 to 2020.

Prince Charles Had A ‘Bizarre’ Toilet Quarrel With Prince Andrew?

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth was reportedly caught between Prince Andrew and Prince Charles after the Duke of York attempted to take over a toilet reserved for his elder brother. It was claimed that the father of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie refused to remove his toiletries from the washroom designed for the Prince of Wales during royal family Christmas in Sandringham.

Former maid Janette McGowan revealed Queen Elizabeth had to intervene to sort the “bizarre” quarrel of Prince Charles and Prince Andrew. She told The Sun:

“We were told not to move anything and not to touch anything in that bathroom because there was an ‘ongoing situation’. When members of the Royal Family travel to Sandringham they are each allocated rooms and a bathroom. But Prince Andrew took the bathroom that was allocated for the Prince of Wales and he wouldn’t budge and refused to take his stuff out of it. It turned into a bizarre stand-off. The Queen then had to personally come and handle the situation. In the end, the Queen herself had to intervene to defuse the situation. She actually had to have words with Andrew and say to him that he had to use the other bathroom and that was when he finally backed down. He was almost 40 at the time. It was very odd behavior for someone of that age.”

Both Prince Charles and Prince Andrew have yet to respond to the reports about their odd toilet spat. So, devoted supporters of Queen Elizabeth’s sons should take all these claims with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
