The Crown will soon premiere with a new season, and fans of the hit Netflix show could no longer wait to see how Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s relationship would unfold. Camilla Parker-Bowles and Prince Charles shippers are also excited to see their love story flourish in the upcoming episodes.

In the previous season of The Crown, Prince Charles and Princess Diana already met and seemingly fell in love. But in the upcoming episodes, royal fans will get to see the fall out of their marriage.

Prince Charles Reportedly Talked About The Crown While At An Event

According to reports, Prince Charles made it clear recently that he’s nowhere near how he’s portrayed on the hit Netflix series.

“There was a group of MSPs all standing and he came over and went, ‘hello, nice to meet you all,' and he went, ‘I'm nowhere near how they portray me on Netflix.’ I thought that was a really interesting way of how you describe yourself,” Anas Sarwar said (via Express).

It’s unclear why Prince Charles referenced The Crown during his conversation with a group of people at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. But if Sarwar’s claims are accurate, this could shed light on the fact that The Crown is, indeed, a work of fiction.

Prince Harry Once Stressed That The Crown Is Fictional

Last year, Prince Harry also confirmed that The Crown is fictional. But even if this is the case, the Duke of Sussex said that he still hopes that his relationship with Meghan Markle won’t be featured in the series.

“It’s fictional. But it’s loosely based on the truth. Of course, it’s not strictly accurate. I am way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing stories written about my family or my wife. That [The Crown] is obviously fiction, take it how you will. But this is being reported on as fact because you’re supposedly news. I have a real issue with that,” he told James Corden (via The Guardian).

The Crown Season 5 Will Feature Prince Charles, Princess Diana’s Divorce, And More

Meanwhile, The Crown Season 5 is expected to premiere sometime in November. Other than Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s relationship, the upcoming episodes will also cover some of the most harrowing events that happened to The Firm in the 90s.

In 1992, a fire engulfed Windsor Castle prompting Queen Elizabeth to dub the year “annus horribilis.” Three years later, Princess Diana sat down for an interview with Martin Bashir, and one year later, her divorce was finalized.

In 1997, Princess Diana passed away following a car crash in Paris. And her shocking demise terribly rocked the royal family because there were allegations that they had Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom killed.
