Pokemon GO Teases Gen 5 With Third-Year Anniversary Banner

Pokemon GO has been around for three years now and fans are still downloading the app today, whether they're trying it out for the first time or are hoping to reinvigorate their love for it. While the current hype surrounding this game has to do with Team Rocket and the Shadow Pokemon, fans noticed something amazing when Niantic shared the third-anniversary banner of the game; Gen 5 Pokemon.

That's right, Tepig, Oshawatt, and Snivy can be seen in the banner below, pretty much confirming that Gen 5 is on the way. For those unfamiliar, Gen 5 is the Pokemon Black and White generation. Still coming out on the DS, this generation was fairly popular with fans and wasn't afraid to put players in new situations. You couldn't catch any Pokemon from previous generations until you beat the Pokemon League, which was nuts at the time.

Right now, there's still no official confirmation on when Gen 5 Pokemon will be arriving in the mobile game. Knowing Niantic, they will announce the new monsters when it's a week or two away from release, which is a great way to get people ready for the game.

Now that the game has officially been downloaded one billion times, now seems like the best time to check out Pokemon GO. Sure, it might not be the game that unified millions of people years ago but there's still some fun to be had.
