Pokemon GO Anniversary Post Teases Gen 4

Once written off as a fad, Pokemon GO continues to keep going strong, constantly adding new features and monsters to catch. While it would have been nice to have some of these things in the game's launch, having them now is just as fun. Niantic has celebrated the game's success with a two-year anniversary post, which not only looks nice but teases Gen 4 Pokemon.

As players can see, not only are there familiar Pokemon from previous releases like Eevee and Totodile but Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum can be seen. It seems like Niantic is ready to unleash Gen 4 on us so fans still playing the game have a lot to look forward to.

Gen 4 was actually one of the more divisive eras of Pokemon, with many gamers feeling like these titles didn't do enough new to feel different. While it did have some neat-looking monsters and some memorable characters, no one cared for Team Galactic, especially when compared to Team Rocket or even Team Skull.

The games are still good though and the fact that these monsters are finally coming to GO speaks well about the mobile title's future. While the update doesn't have a release date yet, you can bet that Niantic will eventually follow up on this.

Pokemon GO can be downloaded now on iOS and Android.
