Pokemon Gets An Explicit R-Rated Bootleg Universe Film From The Castlevania Showrunner

Castlevania showrunner Adi Shankar has released a new Bootleg Universe video, and this time, it's Pokemon that gets an explicit version with the kind of raunchy scenes you won't see in the original animated series.

Watch the video above.

The fan trailer is called The End of Pokemon and it introduces a dark world where an adult Ash Ketchum has lost it all after catching them all. It features Ash turning his back on the world after Pikachu's death, and he is on a mission to free all Pokemon from their trainers who have forced them to fight for so long. The short film also features other familiar characters like Misty, Brock, and Nurse Joy.

The animation style looks raw, the kind you would see in Adult Swim. We get to see Ash unleash various Pokemon to attack enemies violently. Unlike the original series, Shankar's version isn't afraid to show off the brutality and blood of Pokemon battles. The end of the clip offers a mysterious tease from Mewtwo, which reminds me of Detective Pikachu's plot.

This fan trailer makes me want to see an official R-rated Pokemon film but seeing how the popular franchise has always been family-friendly, that probably won't happen.
