Pippa Middleton was super close to her royal sister Kate Middleton. She had been spotted hanging out with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry multiple times.
There were even rumors linking her to the Duke of Sussex. Pippa and Prince Harry are good friends, so the latter was invited to her wedding, but not his girlfriend at the time, Meghan Markle.
Pippa Middleton Allegedly Uninvited Meghan Markle From Her Wedding
Pippa Middleton and James Matthew tied the knot on May 20, 2017. They exchanged "I do's" at St Mark's Church in Englefield. Prince George and Princess Charlotte were among her entourage.
Kate Middleton was careful not to upstage her sister. So, she opted to be the bride's matron of honor, Judy Wade told People.
However, aside from the Duchess of Cambridge, the bride was allegedly concerned of Meghan Markle taking the limelight. At the time, the former Suits star had just begun dating Prince Harry and several tabloids wanted to cover their royal romance.
Finding Freedom co-authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claimed that Markle planned to attend the full day celebration for Pippa's wedding. She even bought her outfit for the event. However, a decision was made prompting her to skip the wedding ceremony.
They claimed that Pippa and her mom, Carole Middleton, were concerned that Markle's presence may "overshadow the main event," Express reported.
Scobie and Durand claimed that a headline on the day of Pippa's wedding compared her and Markle's bottoms. It was allegedly the final straw.
"Harry and Meghan agreed that she couldn't possibly turn up at the church, only 50 metres away from a specially arranged media pen, after such a crass cover story," the authors wrote. "If they worried their arrival might create a media circus despite taking every precaution, now they had no doubt that it would. Meghan's church outfit and Philip Treacy hat would have to be worn another time."
Meanwhile, another source said that it was Prince Harry and Markle's decision for her to skip the ceremony because they didn't want to attract attention. "Right now Harry and Meghan are leaning towards not wanting to attract extra attention, especially on a day that's not about them," an unnamed source told E! News.

Pippa Middleton Invited Meghan Markle At The Evening Reception
Prince Harry decided to drop Markle at another wedding guest's Airbnb before arriving at the church alone. Markle got ready for the reception and waited for her then-royal boyfriend to return, so they could have lunch together. They then drove back to the Middleton house for the evening party.
However, the book claimed that Prince Harry and Markle didn't have the chance to bond at the celebration due to Pippa's request that aimed to encourage guests to meet new people.

"Sitting together in the custom glass marquee that has been erected on the 18-acre property should have been a fun night for the couple, but, per Pippa's request, no couples sat together," Scobie and Durand claimed.
Prince Harry spent the evening with TV news anchor Tom Bradby. On the other hand, Markle allegedly bonded with Roger Ferrer's wife Mirka.
Even if Markle wasn't present at Pippa's wedding ceremony, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex invited her and the Middleton family to their royal wedding the following year. Pippa attended the event wearing a pale green floral dress with her husband James Matthews. She was also accompanied by her parents Carole and Michael Middleton, and brother James Middleton, Town & Country reported.
