Peter Jackson Admits Some Involvement In Amazon’s New Lord Of The Rings TV Series

Peter Jackson might have said that he wouldn't have anything to do with Amazon's new Lord of the Rings series, but it looks like the Lord of the Rings film trilogy director might actually be involved in the project after all.

Busy promoting his upcoming film, Mortal Engines, Jackson was asked by Metro about what he thought of Amazon's new television adaptation of JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books, and while the filmmaker admits he knows very little, it seems like he might have a hand in the project.

"I don't have thoughts on it because I haven't seen [anything],' Jackson said. ‘I think they're going to send us some scripts to see if we can help them along. I wish them all the best and if we can help them we certainly will try. It's a big task."

Before this interview, there used to be a lot of confusion over the amount of Jackson's involvement with the Lord of the Rings television series. At one point, Amazon claimed that they were trying to talk with Jackson to help with the series, but the filmmaker denied those claims saying that he had nothing to do with the project.

Turns out that while Jackson isn't directing any of the episodes on The Lord of The Rings series, he has been sent some scripts to check out, and it's very likely that the filmmaker might be credited as a consultant on the show. While this might not be direct involvement, a little guidance from Jackson would definitely help.

Amazon's Lord of the Rings series has yet to receive a release date but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
