Production for the IT sequel is currently underway, with some stars like Jessica Chastain already wrapping up their parts. Now a new set photo from Just Jared has Bill Skarsgard's Pennywise hanging around in a swamp.
We don't really know what part of the story this is going to take place in, counting that director Andy Muschietti has been taking some liberties when it comes to the source material. Then again, the adult portion of the book is considered to be the weaker part of the story, so it would make sense that he would want to make some changes.
When IT came out last year, it was celebrated as one of the most successful horror movies of all time. Despite some actual frights, the film still managed to bring some very human moments to the screen and by the end, you find yourself in love with the Losers Club. It also helps that the child actors in the film were nothing short of fantastic.
With this sequel, we now follow the Losers Club into their adulthood, and adult actors have been hired to take on the roles. Besides Chastain taking over the role of Bev, you have James McAvoy (Bill), Bill Hader (Richie), Jay Ryan (Ben), James Ranson (Eddie), Andy Bean (Stanley), and Isaiah Mustafa (Mike).
We don't know if the adults will end up as likable as the kids were, but hopefully, Muschietti manages to capture the same chemistry with the new actors.
IT: Chapter 2 comes out Sept. 6, 2019.
