Peacemaker: Harry Potter Star Freddie Stroma Cast as Vigilante

Freddie Stroma is joining another major franchise. The Harry Potter star has just been cast as Vigilante in the upcoming HBO Max series Peacemaker and will serve as the replacement for Chris Conrad who left due to creative differences.

Deadline confirms that Stroma will take over the role of Adrian Chase aka Vigilante in the Suicide Squad spin-off series by James Gunn. Stroma, who played Dickon Tarly in one season of Game of Thrones, joined the cast after Conrad decided to leave the project.

Adrian Chase is an interesting addition to Peacemaker considering that another version of the character has already appeared on TV. Chase showed up in Arrow where he was portrayed by Josh Segarra. However, Chase's Arrowverse alter ego was Prometheus instead of Vigilante. Hopefully, we'll get a more comic-accurate version of the character in Peacemaker.

So far, we know that Chase will be a district attorney in Peacemaker. However, he is also a crimefighter who has regenerative powers. We're still not sure if he will be working with Peacemaker and we may have to wait until next year to find out.

Peacemaker will also star John Cena as the titular character, Steve Agee and Jennifer Holland will both return to reprise their Suicide Squad characters John Economos and Emilia Harcourt, respectively. The cast includes Robert Patrick, Danielle Brooks, Chukwudi Iwuji, and Lochlyn Munro.

The Suicide Squad will screen in selected theaters and on HBO Max on August 6, 2021. Peacemaker has not yet been given an official release date but is set to premiere on HBO Max in early 2022.
