Patty Jenkins Shares New Wonder Woman 1984 Image on Gal Gadot's Birthday

Today is Gal Gadot's birthday, and Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins thought it would be the best time to share a new photo from her next installment in the DCEU—Wonder Woman 1984.

Check this out:

We don't really have any context on what this scene is about, but I'm guessing this is Diana looking down on some 80s party. We only know bits and pieces about the story, but we're sure that Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) is going to be resurrected and Kristen Wiig is playing the villain Cheetah. There's also speculation that Pedro Pascal's character in the movie is a god in disguise, but DC will probably wait for the movie to come out before they'll give us that reveal.

Wonder Woman 1984 was originally set to come out November this year, but WB was gracious enough to give Jenkins and her crew more time to work on the film—that's why WW84 is coming out next year instead. While I'm sure a lot of fans are bummed, I guess I'd prefer to wait for a well-polished movie next year as compared to getting a half-baked rush job now.

We don't know when our first look is going to come out, but it's likely we could get something come SDCC 2019 this July. With Captain Marvel blowing up last March, I'd think that DC would want to remind everyone of the first female comic icon.

Catch Wonder Woman 1984 when it comes out June 5, 2020.
