Patton Oswalt Thinks Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’s Bruce Lee Should Play Shang-Chi

While there are a lot of things to love about the new trailer for Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, one thing that stopped everyone in their tracks was the spot-on actor they got to play Bruce Lee, Mike Moh. Interestingly enough, celebrity geek Patton Oswalt thinks Moh should play the lead for Marvel's Shang-Chi.

Interestingly enough, Moh is no stranger to the MCU. He actually played Triton in the canceled Inhumans series. With that series canceled (and the films showing no regard for the TV world at all), I think Moh could very well get cast in the part. After playing one of the world's most famous martial artists in a Tarantino film? Interest in Moh's career is definitely going to boost, and Marvel would want to bank in on that.

On a side note, Moh also played Ryu in the Street Fighter miniseries Assassin's Fist and Resurrection.

For now, Shang-Chi looks to be in very early stages of pre-production. So far the only people we know involved is director Destin Daniel Cretton and writer Dave Callaham. There's a rumor going around that Donnie Yen is being eyed for the villain, and if they cast a Moh as the lead, then we would be having an actor who played Bruce Lee going up against someone who played Bruce Lee's teacher.

No release date has been set for Shang-Chi, but Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is set to come out July 26.

Avengers: Endgame comes out April 26.
