Patrick Stewart Says He Met With Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige

Now that Disney's completed its merger with the 21st Century Fox, Marvel fans are eagerly waiting for the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and all of Fox's other mutant heroes, to make their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, as exciting as it sounds, Sir Patrick Stewart doesn't really think that he'll take part in the mutants' appearance in Marvel's comic book movie franchise. Speaking in an interview with Digital Spy to help his upcoming CBS All Access series Star Trek: Picard, the X-Men legend talked about a potential return to his role as Professor X. Stewart revealed that he actually had a few conversations with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige about Charles Xavier a few months ago.

"I met with Kevin Feige a couple of months ago and we had long, long conversations," the actor explained. "And there have been moves and suggestions, which include Charles Xavier."

Surprisingly, Stewart would have actually considered reprising his role as Professor X, this time appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Unfortunately, the actor believes that his time as Professor X has come to an end.

"Here's the problem... If we had not made Logan, then yes, I would probably be ready to get into that wheelchair one more time and be Charles Xavier. But Logan changed all that," Stewart told the entertainment news outlet.

That's quite true. Logan served as an epic swan song, not just for Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, but for Stewart's iconic character, Professor X. We can't imagine Marvel undoing Logan by bringing Stewart back to play Charles Xavier.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins with Black Widow which premieres on May 1, 2020.
