Patrick Stewart Remembers The Humanity And Legacy Of Stan Lee

It might be close to five days since Stan Lee's passing back on Monday, but Hollywood continues to remember the comic book legend, and one of the most recent tributes that have been sent to Marvel's cameo king comes from another icon himself– Patrick Stewart.

Taking to Twitter, the longtime X-Men actor Patrick Stewart decided to write his own tribute to Lee in a post honoring the pop culture icon. Sharing a photo of himself with Lee, Stewart opened up about how he felt about the Marvel comic book legend's passing. Thanking Lee for his legacy, Stewart said that the X-Men films always reminded him that "we were all human beings at the core."

"I am very sad about Stan Lee's passing," Stewart wrote in his post. "Because of Stan, all of us who worked on the X-Men films were always very much aware that no matter our superpowers, we were all human beings at the core. Thank you, Stan. Your legacy and humanity will live on in all of us."

Lee's legacy will certainly live on. The comic book writer, editor, and publisher was responsible for the creation of so many iconic comic book characters including Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and so many others. Lee believed in creating characters that would last well beyond his lifetime, believing that they would help immortalize his name throughout history. And they certainly have. We're pretty sure that Lee's name will continue resonating throughout history as Marvel expands.

Marvel's next film, Avengers 4, premieres on May 3, 2019.
