Paramount Pulls Transformers 6 From 2019 Release Schedule

Despite initial insurance that Bumblebee would not be the last Transformers movie, Paramount has now removed the previously listed Transformers 6 from their 2019 release schedule. While the Transformers spinoff will still be hitting theaters this December, no one knows when we will see another installment after it.

The Wrap reported about the news, confirming that Bumblebee is the last Transformers film coming out, for now at least. Paramount and Hasbro do seem to be busy with the latter's properties since they are planning a new cinematic universe featuring characters from the popular toy publisher.

While they were never critically acclaimed, the Transformers movies always seemed to make a lot of money. The first four films alone scored billions of dollars but that all changed with the fifth film The Last Knight, which performed below expectations and may have finally set off Transformers fatigue.

Michael Bay had directed all of the Transformers movies, with the upcoming Bumblebee film being the only exception. The spinoff is actually being directed by Travis Knight, who was responsible for the critically acclaimed Kubo and the Two Strings, so there is some hope for this movie.

Bumblebee is still slated for a December 21 release but any other Transformers movie after that is still uncertain.
