The final trailer to Avengers: Endgame gave us our first look at Thanos and he had a new weapon that looked real deadly. Why he needs a new weapon, especially when the Mad Titan still has the Infinity Stones, is a question we're all asking but that will likely be answered as soon as we watch the movie. Though the trailer didn't show this new weapon much, a new collectible statue for the character has given us a better look.
Sideshow Collectibles recently unveiled their new statue for Thanos and it is a sick-looking piece of work that any MCU fan will want to get their hands on. The weapon is a double-edged blade that's not un-similar to the one Darth Maul used in The Phantom Menace but with actual blades instead of whatever lightsabers are made of.
It also gives us a great look at Thanos' armor, which looks different from what was shown in the trailer. Could this be another case of CGI covering up things in the trailer that will look different? Nobody will be surprised by that at this point but it would be cool if this were the case since what we see here looks real cool.
Plus, as a comic book fan, it's just nice seeing Thanos wear a helmet again. Nothing against his bald head but the comics didn't prepare us enough for that.
Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26. The Sideshow Collectibles statue of Thanos comes out on October or December.
