After witnessing the death of his mother, Aqua vowed that he will catch the person behind her death. He spent years unlocking Ai’s phone and even entered the entertainment industry to find out whom Ai was affiliated with. So, does this make Aqua worse than Ai’s killer, who was a stalker?

How Does Aqua Plan to Catch the Person Behind Ai's Death?

The moment Ai died, Aqua changed. He became distant, cold, and dark. His first step to finding the killer was to deduce the real culprit.

It was revealed that the one who stabbed Ai was Ryosuke, an obsessed fan who felt betrayed that Ai hid her pregnancy.

Although Ryosuke killed himself, Aqua believes someone else was behind the murder.

He believes that someone fed Ryosuke information about Ai’s pregnancy and whereabouts, and that is the person Aqua wants to catch.

His theory is that it is his biological father, the mysterious man who dated Ai. However, no one knows about his identity except for Ai herself.

He went through Ai’s stuff and found a spare mobile phone. He spent years unlocking the phone, and when he did, he discovered a list of people she was affiliated with.

Since the people on her phone are from the entertainment industry, Aqua is sure that his biological father is, too.

So, he decided to become the director’s apprentice to get inside connections.

However, this approach would take too long to get the results he wanted, so Aqua decided to become an actor to get to know more about the people in Ai’s life.

By working with the people from Ai’s contacts, he has a chance to acquire their hair to use for a DNA test.

Since he is Ai’s child, he can easily find out who his father is through the test.

So, Is Aqua Worse Than Ai’s Stalker?

By invading Ai’s privacy (through her phone) and using people as pawns just to find out who his father is, Aqua is quite similar to Ai’s stalker.

Despite the difference in their objectives, both of them have an immense obsession with Ai.

They have some sort of infatuation with Ai as the stalker wants Ai for himself. And while Aqua might deny it, when he was still Gorou Amamiya, he also had thoughts about dating her.

The only thing that sets them apart is that Aqua wants justice for Ai. Despite all the darkness he has, his goal is still better compared to Ai's stalker.

So, despite everything Aqua did, we cannot say that he is more evil than the killer.
