There's no denying that Oscar Isaac is currently enjoying a great deal of success in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Moon Knight but to many, he still has unfinished business in a galaxy far, far away. Isaac isn't exactly against the idea of returning to Star Wars despite the sequel trilogy ending up being a colossal failure in the eyes of longtime fans.

Now, it looks like Isaac will be making his Poe Dameron comeback sooner rather than later. According to a new scoop from Giant Freakin Robot, the sequel trilogy actor is set to star in Damon Lindelof's upcoming film, directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

Key details about Poe Dameron's involvement in the film remain undisclosed but the outlet notes that the project, set post-The Rise of Skywalker will be darker in tone, drawing more inspiration from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Andor.

Previously, the outlet also reported that Daisy Ridley has signed on for the project which is currently eyeing a December 2025 release window. While nothing has been made official, it would be safe to assume at this point that John Boyega could also be tapped to reprise his Finn role in the film, marking the big-screen reunion of the sequel trilogy "trinity".

Hopefully, this new installment in the storied Star Wars saga will not commit the mistakes of the sequel trilogy. If anything, it should serve as the redemption arc for characters such as Rey, Finn, and Poe who were clearly victims of poor writing and questionable creative decisions.

Meanwhile, all films from the Star Wars franchise are available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
