Original Voice of Kim Possible Joins the Live-Action Movie; Patton Oswalt Also Cast

It seems that Disney is just about everything animated into live-action, and even shows like Kim Possible are getting a treatment. Disney is now working on a live-action TV movie based on the beloved series, and news has it that the original voice actress, Christy Carlson Romano, will be in the film.

According to Variety, Romano's role will be that of a cameo. We don't know who she is playing yet, but I'm sure some fans will recognize her face. Romano had also played Shia LaBeouf's older sister Ren in Disney Channel's Even Stevens.

Besides Romano, Patton Oswalt will also be joining the cast. Interestingly enough, Oswalt will be reprising a role that he voiced in the original cartoon—he'll be playing Professor Dementor. In the show, Dementor formed as a kind of FOIL to main enemy Dr. Drakken as he was a more ‘successful' evil genius. I'm sure it will be fun to see him come to life in the show.

Romano and Oswalt will be joining a cast which includes Sadie Stanley (Kim Possible), Sean Giambrone (Ron Stoppable), Isaac Ryan Brown (Wade), Todd Stashwick (Drakken), Taylor Ortega (Shego), and Alyson Hannigan (Dr. Ann Possible).

Based on the first outfit revealed, I was kind of worried about the movie, but seeing that series creators Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley had provided the script, I think the film's plot is in safe hands. Now we just have to wait and see about the execution.

The Kim Possible movie is set to come out in 2019.
