Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Episode 8 Hello Darkness exposes the masked figure sought by the podcasting trio. Fans on Reddit speculated on who the masked man was and why he would not be the primary suspect in Bunny Folger's (Jayne Houdyshell) murder.
Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Episode 8 Reveals Detective Kreps as the Masked Character
The masked guy in Episode 6 Performance Review gets covered in glitter as Oliver's (Martin Short) "Mariah" explosive detonates. After realizing that she had stabbed the person covered in glitter on the subway, Mabel (Selena Gomez) pairs up with Theo (James Caverly) in the following episode.
After the blackout, Lucy (Zoe Colletti) chats with Detective Kreps (Michael Rapaport) at the end of Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Episode 8.
“Lucy was telling me some crazy s*** just went down with you guys …” he says almost threateningly to the podcasting trio. “I was just in the neighborhood trying to make sure you guys weren’t up to any of your shenanigans. You gotta be careful out there, especially in the dark.”
Mabel notices something behind Detective Kreps' ear before turning to exit the Arconia - pink glitter. He was the disguised man who had been following them all along.
Shady Behavior
Fans on Reddit speculated about Detective Kreps' dubious behavior ahead of the release of Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Episode 8.
“Y’all sleeping on Detective Kreps,” one Redditor pointed out. “He’s involved.”
They then revealed all the proof that Kreps was a corrupt police officer:
“Tim [Kono]’s toxicology report and cell phone that never made it into evidence in Season 1. Detective Williams [Da’Vine Joy Randolph] suddenly being in Denver for maternity leave when she and her wife live in NY and women in their third trimester are advised not to fly. Krepps and Cinda [Tina Fey] being in Bunny’s [apartment] swapping stories before the trio arrived.”
This fan believes Detective Kreps has nothing to do with Bunny's murder or the Rose Cooper artwork. However, they believe he is a "puppet in cahoots with somebody."
Bunny Folger’s Murderer Yet to be Revealed
Mabel was a prime suspect in Bunny's murder from the start due to her access to the crime site. Mabel being identified as Bunny's murderer, on the other hand, does not feel like something Only Murders in the Building would do to fans - there has to be more to the story!
Season 2 has no shortage of suspects. Detective Kreps may be "Glitter Guy," but he is not Bunny's murderer. The case still has several credible suspects.
