One Piece: World Seeker Delayed to 2019

Bandai Namco's One Piece: World Seeker looks to be one of the most promising games in the franchise, with a huge open-world and beautiful graphics. Fans were originally promised a 2018 release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC but it looks like that won't be the case. The game has now been delayed to 2019.

Interestingly enough, the announcement of the game's delay wasn't announced in a magazine but a manga volume. Gematsu was able to confirm that One Piece #90 is where the delay was announced, which is one of the more interesting ways to reveal a video game being late. You would think Bandai Namco would announce it themselves, though that could still happen.

While no reason was given for the delay, one can assume that it wasn't ready for a 2018 release and will need additional polish. This One Piece installment could be the game that transcends expectations and can actually be played by regular gamers, instead of just series fans. If they can make the gameplay fun and develop an accessible story, this could be a sure-fire hit.

There have been a number of One Piece games over the years but World Seeker has to be the most ambitious one yet. The only thing that comes close to that is Unlimited World Red, which just got a re-release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

One Piece: World Seeker will now be coming out in 2019.
