One Piece: World Seeker Coming to the West, Gets Teaser Trailer

Bandai Namco has finally released the Jump Festa trailer of One Piece: World Seeker and it is a gorgeous game. While not too much about the game is revealed, it's clear that the open-world genre suits the franchise just fine. This could be the best One Piece video game ever made, which isn't that high a compliment when compared to other titles but it's definitely something.

Players will be controlling Monkey D. Luffy in this game and there are plenty of ways to explore the open-world. Aside from running and jumping, the trailer also shows that he can stretch his arms to swing on trees and other similar objects Spider-Man-style. He can also use his feet to hover around areas, which is basically flying and that's not a complaint.

Combat is touched upon briefly. We see Luffy beat some fools with no problem and all of his combat attacks look varied. He can take out long-range foes with his stretchy arms with an aiming option similar to the one seen in Infamous. There's also melee attacks and long-range grabs that look a lot like Spider-Man moves. Considering how One Piece combat has been limited to Warriors games from Koei Tecmo, the variety is nice.

One Piece: World Seeker is set to come out sometime in 2018. It will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
