While some lucky fans in Japan were able to watch the film early at the premiere earlier today at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, the rest of the fanbase both in Japan and worldwide were treated to the second trailer for One Piece Film: Red.
The new trailer was shown at the end of the One Piece Day – Day 1 livestream which also showed a live panel featuring the film’s voice cast ahead of its premiere.

One Piece Film: Red trailer 2 features a closer look at some new scenes, including some action-packed sequences, along with clips of Uta’s colorful concert.
Though the highlight of the trailer is arguably the songs by Uta (performed by Japanese singer Ado) that pack a big emotional punch, so much so that fans are already moved to tears based on the trailer’s comments section.
While this is billed as trailer 2, it is actually the fourth if you count the first two teaser trailers. But the second trailer for One Piece Film: Red is easily the longest, meaning it has the most number of new scenes and music.
This upcoming One Piece movie is the fifteenth feature film in the franchise, and it follows Luffy and the Straw Hat crew as they attend the concert of Uta, the world’s most beloved singer. But it is soon revealed that Uta is the daughter of the legendary pirate, Shanks.
The movie stars Kaori Nazuka as Uta, with Japanese singer Ado as Uta’s singing voice. Joining them are returning One Piece cast members, including Mayumi Tanaka as Monkey D. Luffy.
As for its staff, the film features director Goro Taniguchi, the director of the One Piece: Defeat The Pirate Ganzak! OVA, along with the feature film Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion TV anime.
One Piece Film: Red will release in cinemas, IMAX, and other venues in Japan on August 6, 2022. The movie is then set to release in Fall 2022 in select countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, and more.
