The title of One Piece Chapter 1098 is Bonney’s Birth, and it features Brook busting out a solo while using an electric eel to power his guitar on the cover page.

The chapter begins at the Revolutionary Army’s headquarters in Baltigo, where Kuma and the others received a call for backup for the rebellion in Tumi in the South Blue.

Ivankov argues that they can’t go because their ship’s already loaded with the injured from the Goa Kingdom.

Kuma volunteers to go as if he has been pushing himself too hard ever since Ginny was captured by a celestial dragon who had his eye on her.

Thanks to Kuma, the rebellion in Tumi paid off, and the Revolutionary Army was treated as the true heroes of the people once again.

Roughly two years later, Ginny made contact with Kuma and the army, saying that she got sick, so they dumped her off from the Holy Land to the surprise of Kuma, Ivankov, and Dragon.

Ginny bids farewell, even though she wishes to see them all again.

Ginny also reveals that she was dying, so she doesn’t want them to come looking for her, despite Kuma’s pleas to tell him her location. She also asks Dragon and Ivankov to watch over Kuma since he’s too kind for his own good.

Kuma realizes that there’s only one place Ginny would come back to, so he storms off on his own to the chapel in Sorbet Kingdom without hearing Ginny’s last words.

There, Kuma desperately looks for Ginny, only to find her lifeless body. As it turns out, Ginny’s face, body, and all of her skin turned blue and hard as stone after being exposed to natural light.

Kuma cries while hugging Ginny’s lifeless body as he looks back on the time they spent together. He was also informed that Ginny crossed the sea by day to ensure that her baby lived in case anything happened to herself.

Then, Kuma buried Ginny’s body with the promise that he would raise her daughter, Bonney.

Over time, Kuma tried his best to take care of Bonney with the help of the people of the Sorbet Kingdom. He cherished Bonney’s childhood milestones, all the while fighting along with the Revolutionary Army.

One day, Kuma closed all the windows in the church after seeing a blue stone underneath Bonney’s eye.

They suspect that Bonney inherited Ginny’s disease, so they call the doctors to go check on her. All of them didn’t help, so Kuma decided to quit being a member of the army.

At the age of five, Bonney deals with foolish kids who call her a vampire just because she can’t come into the light. Kuma dotes on Bonney, as he always does.

He cheers her up, saying that her blue stones are jewels that make her look even more beautiful. They also dream of going to the Sky Islands and Fishman Island once her disease is cured.

Later, Kuma meets a doctor who diagnosed Bonney’s incurable disease, known as Sapphire Scales.

All kinds of natural light, including sunlight and moonlight, cause the stone to spread, but even if Kuma tries to block the cause entirely, it will eventually spread over time.

With this, the doctor tells Kuma that Bonney has five years to live at best, as there is no known cure yet.

Kuma has to lie to Bonney, who thinks that by the age of 10, her disease will be cured and she can come along with him around the world.

One year later, King Bekori has gone and done it again in the Sorbet Kingdom. The people want Kuma to help since King Bekori threatens to burn everyone he thinks is weighing the country down.
